The machine
What it does.
Tape edge is the last sewing operation on a mattress and the most visible one. The 1394 workstation sews the top and bottom panels to the border in one controlled pass, laying the finished edge that a customer sees and touches first.
The station holds the mattress square through the turn so the edge stays even from corner to corner, which is exactly where a hand operation tends to wander. A trained operator working with the machine sets the pace, and the machine holds the standard, so quality does not depend on which operator is on shift.
The 1394 is built to run in a production cell alongside our border, panel, and packaging automation, and it is supported by the same in house engineering group, Parts Depot inventory, and service programs as the rest of the line.
